Have you read the book, "The Miracle Dogs of Portugal"? This is a wonderful story about a prince named Henry who lived in Portugal. Henry's life is saved by a Portuguese Water Dog named Milagro. Your students will want to read about Henry and Milagro's adventures. This book would be a perfect addition to your next narrative fiction unit. This is the "almost true" story of Henry the Navigator, the father of Portuguese and Spanish exploration. So it would be the perfect addition to your Columbus Day studies. You can also read this story in February with your Presidents Day unit. Did you know that the current First Pet, Bo, is a Portuguese Water Dog?
Tracy Aiello, the author and former elementary school teacher, is going to give copies of her book to five of my lucky readers PLUS she is going to donate five additional books to children affected by Hurricane Sandy. How great is that?!!! You can enter this giveaway three different ways. You can enter all 3 ways, too!
