Kwanzaa resources

http://teach123-school.blogspot.com/

Kwanzaa is celebrated December 26th - January 1st.  It is based on a year-end harvest festival that has taken place in Africa for many years.  The name comes from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza" which means the first fruits of the harvest.

Here are a few Kwanzaa resources:

Thank you so much. We do a unit on "A Celebration of Lights" in first grade. One of the holidays we study is Kwanzaa. This will definitely add a lot to our unit.
